Solution :
Number of seats auditorium contains = 3000
Number of rows = 50
= 3000/50
= 60
Hence,60 seats are on each row.
Problem 2 :
Ms. Capri’s students have written a total of 425 essays. If each essay contained 500 words, how many total words were in all the essays ?
Solution :
Total number of essays = 425
Number of words = 500
Total words = 425 × 500
= 212,500
Hence, 212,500 total words were in all the essays.
Problem 3 :
Each student in a class receives 12 sketch pens. If there are 60 students in the class, how many sketch pens are needed ?
Solution :
Number of sketch pens = 12
Number of students = 60
Total sketch pens = 12 × 60
= 720
Hence, 720 sketch pens are needed.
Problem 4 :
Sharon has 8 packs of chewing gum. There are 12 pieces in each pack. How many pieces of chewing gum does Sharon have ?
Solution :
Sharon has 8 packs of chewing gum
Number of pieces = 12
= 12 × 8
= 96 pieces of chewing gum
Problem 5 :
54 students are going to a museum in a bus. If three students can sit in every seat, how many seats will the students need in all ?
Solution :
Total number of students = 54
Number of students can sit in every seat = 3
= 54/3
= 18 seats
Problem 6 :
A school is taking students on a field trip. There are 938 students and 14 of them can travel in each van. How many vans are required to make the trip ?
Solution :
Number of students = 938
Number of students can travel in each van = 14
= 938/14
= 67 vans
Problem 7 :
Diana is inviting 80 friends to her birthday party. She has 320 cupcakes. How many cupcakes will each friend get ?
Solution :
Number of friends David inviting = 80
Number of cupcakes = 320
= 320/80
= 4
Hence, each friend get 4 cupcakes.
Problem 8 :
There are 810 coins in Ben’s coin collection. If the coins are organized into 45 groups, how big is each group ?
Solution :
Ben’s coin collection= 810 coins
Number of groups = 45
= 810/45
= 18 coins
Problem 9 :
Melinda has 3648 crayons stored in boxes. How many crayons are there in each box, if there are 38 boxes ?
Solution :
Number of crayons stored in boxes = 3648
Number of boxes = 38
= 3648/38
= 96 crayons
Hence, 96 crayons are there in each box.
Problem 10 :
There are 731 stamps in Ron’s stamp collection. If the stamps are organized into 43 groups, how big is each group ?
Solution :
There are 731 stamps in Ron’s stamp collection
Number of groups = 43
= 731/43
= 17 stamps
