RULES IN ROUNDING OFF NUMBERS WITH DECIMALS
A particular digit in a number will round up if the digit that follows it is 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.
For example,
52.368 = 52.37 (rounding up for 2 decimal places)
The digit will remain unchanged if the following digits is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
For example,
6.743 = 6.74 (rounding down for 2 decimal places)
The number 8.4236 can be rounded to a specified number of decimal places
8.4236 --> 8.424 to 3 decimal places
8.4236 --> 8.42 to 2 decimal places
8.4236 --> 8.4 to 1 decimal place

- Look at the 3rd digit after the decimal.
- 3rd digit is 7 which is greater than 5.
- Add 1 with the underlined digit.
- So, the answer is 0.05

- Underline the 2nd digit after the decimal. 10.8374
- Look at the 3rd digit after the decimal.
