MULTIPLYING MIXED NUMBERS

To multiply mixed numbers, we have to follow the steps given below.

Step 1 :

Convert the mixed numbers into improper fraction.

Step 2 :

Simplify the numerator and denominator as much as possible.

Step 3 :

After the simplification done, we can multiply the numerator by the numerator, denominator by denominator.

Step 4 :

In case we find the improper fraction, we have to use long division get the quotient and remainder.

To write the answer as mixed number,

Quotient RemainderDivisor

Multiply these fractions. Cancel and simplify if necessary.
