Empire was in Asia = 3/8

Rest was in Europe = ?

Empire state as quantity of land in Asia = (1 - 3/8)

= 8 - 38Empire was in Europe = 58Total miles= 1,000,000 × 58

= 1,000,000 × 0.625

= 625000

So, 625000 square miles was his empire in Europe.

Solution :

Number of flights = 15 long distance flights

Solo flights = 3/5

Rest were with a co - pilot = ?

= 1 - 3/5

Co- pilot= 5 - 35Co- pilot = 25

Total number of flights = Number of flights  × co - pilot

= 15 × 25

= 3 × 2

= 6

So, she has completed with 6 co - pilot.

Problem 3 :

Albert Einstein's Theories : Albert Einstein proposed 8 revolutionary theories during his lifetime. If 2/3 of his theories were in the field of physics and the rest were in mathematics, how many theories did he propose in mathematics ?

Solution :

Revolutionary theories = 8

Field of physics = 2/3

Rest were in mathematics = ?

Field of mathematics = 1 - 23= 3 - 23= 13

= 8 × 1/3

= 8/3

So, he has proposed 8/3 theories.

Problem 4 :

Number of militia = 1 - 3/5

= 5 - 35= 25

Number of militia soldiers = Total number of troops  × Number of militia

= 10,000 × 2/5

= 4000

So, number of militia soldiers is 4000.

= 5000 × 1/3

= 1666.67

So, number of  infantry soldiers.is 1667.

Problem 7 :

Leonardo da Vinci's Sketches : Leonardo da Vinci made a collection of 100 sketches. If 1/5 of his sketches were portraits and 2/5 were inventions, how many sketches were neither portraits nor inventions ?

Solution :

Number of sketches = 100

Portraits = 1/5

Inventions = 2/5

Sketches were neither portraits nor inventions = (1 - 1/5 - 2/5)

= 1 - 15 - 25= 5 - 1 - 25= 25

= 100  × 2/5

= 40

Hence, 40  sketches were neither portraits nor inventions.

Problem 8 :

Marie Curie's Discoveries : Marie Curie made 20 groundbreaking discoveries throughout her career. If 3/4 of her discoveries were in the field of radioactivity, how many discoveries were not related to radioactivity ?

Solution :

Marie Curie made in groundbreaking discoveries = 20

Field of radioactivity = 3/4

Not related to radioactivity = 1 - 3/4

= 4 - 34= 14

= 20 × 1/4

= 5

So, 5 discoveries were not related to radioactivity.
