FIND MISSING TERMS IN ADDING FRACTIONS

Write the missing numbers in the boxes to make each addition problem true.

Problem 1 :

Solution :

In left side, we have two fractions with are having same denominator. To add them, take the denominator once and add the numerator.

1/6 + 4/6 = 5/6

So, missing value is 5.

Problem 2 :

Solution :

In left side, we have two fractions with are having same denominator.  To add them, take the denominator once and add the numerator.

1/8 + 4/8 = 5/8

So, missing value is 5.

Problem 3 :

Solution :

In left side, we have two fractions with are having same denominator. To add them, take the denominator once and add the numerator.

1/10 + 4/10 = 5/10

So, missing value is 5.

Problem 4 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 7.

4/12 + 3/12 = 7/12

Problem 5 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 7.

4/6 + 3/6 = 7/6

Problem 6 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 7.

4/3 + 3/3 = 7/3

Problem 7 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 5.

3/4 + 2/4 = 5/4

Problem 8 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 5.

3/10 + 2/10 = 5/10

Problem 9 :

Solution :

Adding 3 with which numerical value we will get 5.

3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8

Problem 10 :

Solution :

1/6 + 2/6 = 3/6

Problem 11 :

Solution :

1/5 + 1/5 = 2/5

Problem 12 :

Solution :

4/10 + 1/10 = 5/10

Problem 13 :

Write a number from 1 - 12 in each box so that the addition problem is true.

Solution :

If the numerator of the first fraction is 1, then

1/12 + 5/12 = 6/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 2, then

2/12 + 5/12 = 7/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 3, then

3/12 + 5/12 = 8/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 4, then

4/12 + 5/12 = 9/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 5, then

5/12 + 5/12 = 10/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 6, then

6/12 + 5/12 = 11/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 7, then

7/12 + 5/12 = 12/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 8, then

8/12 + 5/12 = 13/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 9, then

9/12 + 5/12 = 14/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 10, then

10/12 + 5/12 = 15/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 11, then

11/12 + 5/12 = 16/12

If the numerator of the first fraction is 12, then

12/12 + 5/12 = 17/12
